Dell TL4000 RMU not responding

Our 4 year old Dell TL4000 Tape Library has been throwing “tantrum” for the last 2 weeks.  The RMU (Remote Management Unit) had stopped responding a few times in 2 weeks.  When it happened, we will have to pull out the power cord to power recycle the tape library.  From the Dell forum, the cause of it is because of scanning of devices happening in the network.  According to Dell, upgrading the firmware should fix the problem.

I downloaded the latest firmware from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&releaseid=R296690&SystemID=PWV_TL4000&servicetag=&os=WNT5&osl=en&deviceid=14489&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=12&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=37&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=455517 and did an upgrade this afternoon.

Hopefully, this will fix the “tantrum”.
