As the meeting organizer, you do not need to respond to the meeting

We have an event booking system which will send out confirmation email with an iCalendar attachment to attendees and organizer.

Now the problem is when the organizer received the confirmation email in his/her Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 and opened the iCalendar (e.g. event.ics), the appointment does not appear in his/her Outlook calendar.  There is no option for the organizer to save or accept the iCalendar appointment.  What the organizer sees is “As the meeting organizer, you do not need to respond to the meeting.”.

iCalendar Format

Woke up this morning and still not feeling very well but still feel like going to work. Trying to figure out the iCalendar format documented in RFC 2445. We are working on a resource booking web application and would like to have a vCalendar send to the Organizer and Attendees. Gotten a working template in VB.Net from the Internet and now modifying to meet our need.

This is a good link.
