Cannot See USB Thumb Drive

I received a call from a user claiming that he cannot see his USB thumb drive in Windows Explorer. He claimed that he had tried all brand of thumb drive and well I don’t know how that can be possible. I went to his place and the first thing I did is to check the Disk Management. The thumb drive was assigned with the drive letter E. I launched the Windows Explorer and drive letter E was taken up by a mapped drive. I disconnected the mapping and immediately the thumb drive appeared. He had a 1GB thumb drive and me the poor I.T. guy is using a 32MB thumb drive ;o)
