Windows 2003 Volume Shadow Copy
The volume shadow copy on our file server had stopped working for more than a month. Found out that it is because the volume for our file share is more than a terabyte and the cluster size is 4Kb. I can either change the cluster size which mean re-formatting the volume or applying Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 which includes the hotfix that fixes the problem. Well, there is no way I am going to re-formatting the volume. Last weekend, I applied Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 on both on our File and Print servers because they are clustered. I had also applied the KB898060 hotfix that fixes the blackhole detection issue of Windows 2003 Service Pack 1. It had been 4 days and the Volume Shadow Copy is working well.
